Girls in Airports wird beschrieben als \u201eeine einzigartige Mischung aus nordischer Jazz-Lyrik, Indie-Rock-Einfl\u00fcssen und Kl\u00e4ngen aus aller Welt\u201c.<\/p>\n

Die d\u00e4nische Band ist bekannt f\u00fcr ihre fesselnden Klanglandschaften, die musikalische Genres und geografische Grenzen weit \u00fcberschreiten. Sie verbinden Jazz, Indie und Folk zu einem unverwechselbaren Ausdruck voller gef\u00fchlvoller, melodischer, melancholischer Hooks und tanzbarer, global, inspirierter Rhythmen. Girls in Airports z\u00e4hlt damit zu den vitalsten experimentellen Ensembles Europas.<\/p>\n

Durch ihren einzigartigen Sound wirkt ihre Musik fesselnd, kraftvoll und seelenvoll zugleich. Die herausstechenden Live-Auftritte der Band (u.a. Roskilde, JazzAhead) haben sie schnell zu einem der meistdiskutierten Acts der internationalen Szene gemacht.<\/p>\n

Das Quartett aus der d\u00e4nischen Hauptstadt gr\u00fcndete sich im Jahr 2009 und wurde bereits ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter f\u00fcr ihr Deb\u00fct als best cross over Jazz Album mit dem Danish Music Award ausgezeichnet. Seither haben sie acht Alben ver\u00f6ffentlicht und sind in China, Brasilien, den USA und ganz Europa getourt. Ihr aktuelles Album \u201eHow is now\u201c wurde im Fr\u00fchjahr 2023 ver\u00f6ffentlicht und von der Fachpresse einhellig als Meisterwerk gefeiert.<\/p>\n

\u201eZwei Drummer sorgen f\u00fcr trancige Rhythmen, Saxophonist Martin Stender spielt schwebende Phrasierungen und das Wurlitzer E-Piano, gespielt von Mathias Holm t\u00e4nzelt so leichtf\u00fc\u00dfig dahin, als w\u00e4re es eine Steel Drum.
